Slurping Your Noodles - A nice Vietnamese way to enjoy food!

Did you know in Vietnam, slurping your noodles isn’t rude—it’s a compliment to the chef? 🍜 Or that crossing the street feels like an adventure, with motorbikes weaving around you like magic? 🛵✨
My first roommate in Canada was a Brazilian guy, and let me tell you, he was the chillest person I’d ever met—until the incident.
One cozy evening, I was in the kitchen, happily slurping away at a steaming bowl of noodle soup, enjoying my moment. You know that feeling when the broth is perfect, and you just can’t help but go full-on noodle orchestra? Yeah, that was me.
Meanwhile, my roommate was in his room, probably reading a book or scrolling Instagram—who knows? Suddenly, his door swung open with dramatic flair, and there he stood, looking half-amused, half-horrified.
“Hey, uh… are you okay?” he asked, tilting his head.
“Yeah, why?” I replied between slurps, not catching the hint.

Word of the day: húp ------------ to slurp
(verb)
đưa thức ăn lỏng vào mồm bằng cách kề môi vào miệng vật đựng và hút mạnh dần từng ít một.
E.g. "Húp cháo."
